How long is the recovery time for Tumescent Liposuction procedure?

The local anaesthesia injected to the treatment area will last for around 24 hours and this greatly helps to abate the pain associated after the procedure. When the anaesthesia had worn off, medications can be taken, as suggested by your doctor, to lessen the pain. Discomfort and swelling may be experienced and may last for weeks,

It is recommended to take a rest for around 2-3 days, and resume to your normal activities and exercise 3 to 7 days after the operation. However, please be mindful of heavy physical labor and work-out.

Results will be seen around 3 to 4 months; however, full results may be seen for about 6 months. To check your progress and avoid complications, it would be best to schedule follow-up appointments with your doctor.

How should you take care of yourself after the procedure?

After-care procedures are very crucial in reducing the risks of complications and maximizing the benefits of this liposuction operation. To get the best results, the following are some helpful tips for better recovery:
            - You can resume your normal diet immediately. It is recommended that patients drink sufficient amounts of fluids to prevent dehydration. Alcoholic beverages should be avoided for at least 48 hours after the operation.
            - Rets after the operation. Light physical activities can be undertaken, although it is recommended that vigorous workouts and other strenuous physical activities be continued two weeks after operation.
            - Follow your doctor’s instructions when it comes to wearing post-operation absorbent pads (to support anaesthetic drainage) and elastic compression garments.
            - Always keep the incision slits clean and dry by gently cleaning it with soap and water. Change absorbent pads daily.
            - Do not use band-aids or hydrogen peroxide on the incisions.
            - Do not apply ice- or heat-packs to the treatment areas.
            - Avoid soaking in pools, Jacuzzi, or any other body of water for at least 2 weeks after tumescent liposuction procedure.
            - Take medications prescribed by your doctor. However, do not take medications that promote bleeding (i.e. aspirin, ibuprofen).
            - Always schedule follow-up appointments with your doctor for a continuous assessment of your progress
