What is the CoolSculpting Technique?

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical procedure utilizing cooling technique whereas the target fat cells are cooled below body temperature at a very precise temperature so as to avoid frostbite.
            This technique’s mechanism of action involves cryolipolysis which is based on the principle that fat cells are highly vulnerable to cooling compared to surrounding tissues. Using a non-invasive device, heat is extracted from the target fatty tissues and thus cools the area whilst protecting surrounding muscles, nerves, skin and tissues. When cooled, apoptosis or cell death of fat cells gradually happens which would then result to the reduction or elimination of fat layers.
            CoolSculpting utilizes a sophisticated engineering system that ensures precise monitoring using non-invasive applicators. A vacuum applicator is utilized to draw target tissues and be held between cooling panels where heat is subsequently extracted. Sensors are used to monitor and control cooling and ensure that the procedure is uniform and consistent
